Edith Meijering – LIQUEFIED & DUE TO PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES

text roberto voorbij

This Thursday opens in Enschede’s Concordia the exhibition LIQUEFIED, a solo exhibition of recent work by Edith Meijering. Seemingly bright and airy paintings, that hide however a reality of imperfection and tragedy. On November 16 and November 30 will an Artist Talk take place. Where on November 30 Meijering specifically discusses the role of music in her creative process.

At the same time is of this artist, whose portraits you may have already noticed during the ZomerExpo (see previous post), also work on display at Showroom Arnhem. During the exhibition DUE TO PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES. A group exhibit with the central question: What if by a certain event your life is being changed radically? How do you continue?

‘LIQUEFIED’ (VLOEIBAAR) runs until the 3rd of December 2011. ‘DUE TO PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES’ (WEGENS PERSOONLIJKE OMSTANDIGHEDEN) until the 27th of November.

Edith Meijering – Wonderwoman is a slut (2011). Mixed media.

Edith Meijering –  Purple Flake (2010). Mixed media on paper.
