A medium that’s being used for street art for decades is ‘the sticker’. This month opens in Bremen’s Weserburg Museum for Contemporay Art an exhibition that specifically zooms in on this low-budget and direct art form. Latest developments are being highlighted and are subsequently placed in a historical context with names such as Klaus Staeck, Jenny Holzer and Robert Watts. The exhibition is being organized in collaboration with International Sticker Awards and opens on November 18. On this date will also this years winners, of the since 2005 held International Sticker Awards competition be announced. The as well international jury is made up of among others rebelart.net‘s Alain Bieber. Part of the exhibit Sticker in der Kunst will consist of this year entries.
Further can I mention that I’ve also provided some of this years pieces: dreams, come together and live fast. Hopefully this can tempt the jury. The many submissions for 2011 show in any case numerous potential candidates for the prize. Personal tips: Thomas Heyse, Brot and inkub.
