Incubate 2012 Open Source Expo

As part of the annual incubate festival takes at the Tilburg Koepelhal for the second time the Open Source Expo place. Everyone had the opportunity to submit work, hence the title, and nearly 300 artists subsequently responded to this. Although the form of the exhibition was an open one, there is still enough quality to discover, a surprising amount actually. And although a prescribed theme was omitted, the curators succeeded in creating a coherent whole, with a pleasant classification by used medium and style. Abstraction with abstraction, Neue Wilde – like work with Neue Wilde – like work, video work with video work etc. etc. A further good reason to visit the impressive Koepelhal is Leah Capaldi’s performance piece which there continuously takes place. For seven days, for seven hours will a performer sing karaoke, the audience is hereby invited for a duet, a kind of ‘open source’ as well, just as the live streaming of the work.

Incubate festival 2012 will run until Sunday 16 September.
